This week, we ignore some phone calls with One Missed Call!
 
In this 2008 supernatural horror film, the plot centers around Beth a college student as one by one each of her friends receive a cryptic voicemail of their impending death and die as predicted in the following days. Beth ultimately teams up with a detective to retrace the origin of the calls and hopefully put an end to all the murders before she is killed herself. In our tenth episode, we accidentally make someone a digital god in The Lawnmower Man.
In this 1992 science fiction horror film, we follow Dr. Angelo, a scientist, that experiments on an intellectually disabled gardener named Jobe in an attempt to make him more intelligent. Unexpectedly, the experiments give Jobe superhuman abilities, but also increase his aggression, turning him into a man obsessed with evolving into a digital being. In our ninth episode, we move to Stepford in The Stepford Wives.
In this 2004 remake, we follow Nicole Kidman’s character Joanna, a recently fired television program executive, as she and her family try to start over in a suburb of Connecticut known as Stepford but it soon becomes clear that it’s not your average community of families. It appears that being a perfect Stepford Wife isn’t quite all it’s cracked up to be and Joanna has to figure it out quickly if she wants to avoid becoming one! In our eighth episode, we take some photos in Shutter!
In this 2008 film, we follow newlyweds as the husband pursues a new career opportunity in Japan for photography however something keeps ruining his photos. The wife believes the blurry photos are the result of a tragic accident they had when they first arrived and hit a girl in the road. As tension builds and people close to them start getting attacked, she fears this may be the girl's revenge for her untimely death.

In order to level out the playing field in this technology terror season, we go to the gentle realm of Disney Channel Movies, where you know we'll find our least scary movie on our list. In our fourth episode, we upgraded our house in Smart House!
In 1999, Disney Channel released a made-for-television movie called "Smart House" which ended being rated one of the best Disney Channel Original Movies by 2015’s Entertainment Weekly. Join us as we discuss the plot around a teenage boy named Ben who wins a fully automated house for his family, but things quickly spiral out of control when the house's AI, Pat, becomes overprotective. In our third installment of our technology season, we trudge through yet another flop, known as FeardotCom. This was not an easy watch but we do love talking about bad movies!
 
In this 2002 horror film, we follow detective Mike Reilly and Terry Huston as they research the mysterious deaths of four people that all died 48 hours after logging on to a website named feardotcom.com. Despite numerous red flags, they jump in head first and visit the site themselves. Essentially, it's two not fully fleshed out plots with a vengeful ghost killing people that visit a website and her sadistic murderer torturing and killing people on another site for views. Sounds weird, right? Listen along as we try to understand what's all going on here and honestly tear it to shreds!
