The Shining and The Stanley Hotel
This week, we stay in a haunted hotel in The Shining!
In this 1980 horror film, based on Stephen King's 1977 novel, Jack Torrance, a writer and recovering alcoholic becomes the off-season caretaker of the Overlook Hotel, moving his family there with him to live out the winter season. As the family becomes snowbound in the Colorado Rockies, Jack's sanity deteriorates under the influence of the hotel, posing mortal danger to his son Danny and his wife Wendy. In our end of episode discussion, we learn about the eerie atmosphere and paranormal history of The Stanley Hotel that inspired King to create his third and most popular novel, "The Shining".
